Symptom

Wolf warming drawer will not turn on

Nothing happens when the power key is pressed, or the panel lights up and refuses to start a cycle, or it shows PF and stops there. On this appliance the commonest reason is the simplest one: the drawer is not closed onto its switch.

  • From $95 diagnostic, credited to the repair
  • 59 cities and neighborhoods covered
  • OEM parts available on order
  • In writing the price, before anything is opened

Four ordinary causes

What this usually turns out to be

Cheapest and commonest first, which is also the order we check them in. They sit hundreds of dollars apart, and only the unit settles which one is yours.

  • The door switch, or what is holding the drawer

Error 50. Something in the travel, a runner that has shifted, or the switch itself. The first two are free to check.

    Warming drawer repair from $175
  • Stored settings that did not check out

Error 10 is an invalid checksum — the control read its own configuration and did not recognize it, usually after a power event.

    Control board replacement from $365
  • A recorded power failure

PF. Press the power key to reset, or reset the drawer at the breaker.

  • No supply at all

A drawer under a wall oven often shares a breaker with it. If the oven above is also dead, this is not a drawer problem.

In five minutes

Before you call anybody

None of it needs tools, and all of it makes the visit shorter.

  1. 01

    Close it properly

Fully out, then fully in. Look for a towel, a lid or a tray edge in the way.

  2. 02

    Check the appliance above

If the oven in the same stack is dead too, it is the supply.

  3. 03

    Breaker off thirty seconds

A 10 will sometimes clear on a restart with defaults reloaded.

  4. 04

    Write the number down

Ten and fifty are different jobs and different parts.

How it shows up

What people describe when they call

  • “No response from the power key”
  • “A 10 or a 50 on the display”
  • “PF showing after a storm”
A black kitchen with a marble island edged in brass, a steam oven and a coffee machine built into the wall, opening onto a living room.

Two shortcuts

Narrow it down before anybody arrives

A description of the behaviour leaves a few possible causes. A code names the subsystem, and the model number says which parts to bring. Either one shortens the visit; both together usually settle it.

If there is no code at all

The data plate is inside the cabinet, upper left wall or behind the grille. All models

About Wolf warming drawer will not turn on

The fastest diagnosis is the code

Open the drawer fully and close it again, firmly, with nothing in the way of the runners. Error 50 is the door switch reporting closed when the panel is being used or the unit is starting, and a drawer resting on a dish towel produces it perfectly.

The switch before the board

A warming drawer will not run with its door switch unhappy, and the switch is at the front where towels, tray edges and a runner a hair out of line all reach it. That is why the first thing on this page is free, and why we would rather you tried it than booked us to try it for you.

Questions about wolf warming drawer will not turn on

The panel lights but nothing starts.

That is the control alive and something refusing the cycle, and on this appliance the door switch is the first suspect by a distance. Close the drawer firmly with the runners clear before anybody is called.

Error 10 keeps coming back after a reset.

Then the stored configuration is not surviving, and that is the control rather than the power. It is a real repair and it is a part we can name before the visit.

It is an outdoor drawer and it did this after a storm.

PF after a storm is history rather than a problem — the drawer recorded that the power went away. Press the power key. If it returns on a settled supply, it is not the storm.
