What this job costs and how it is agreed

A starting figure, not a quote. What moves it is the model, how the unit is built in and which part it needs — settled after the on-site diagnostic.

On the visit

How this visit actually goes

The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.

  1. 01

    Power off first

A cracked induction or electric surface is a live appliance with a broken lid. Switch it off at the breaker and stop using it, including the zones that still work.

  2. 02

    Identify the exact glass

Ordered to the model number, not to the measured size. The printed graphics, the cutouts and the touch areas differ between generations of the same width.

  3. 03

Look underneath while it is open

Whatever cracked the glass may have reached what is under it. Generators, wiring and the control are checked before the new surface goes on.

  4. 04

    Seal it properly

A surface bedded badly leaks into the cavity for the rest of its life, and that is how the next repair starts.

Applies to

  • A black induction cooktop set into a wooden worktop, zone indicators lit red beside the touch controls
Gas · Electric · Induction · Sealed burner rangetop

    Wolf cooktop repair in Miami

Three different appliances behind one word. A gas cooktop is burners and igniters; an induction cooktop is a power supply under glass with a generator per zone; a sealed burner rangetop is a range's burner deck with no oven under it. What goes wrong, and who can reach it, differs completely between them.

    • A zone shutting itself down mid-cook
    • The surface not seeing a pan
    • Controls locked, or answering a wet cloth

About Wolf cooktop glass replacement

Glass, not electronics

Nearly everything else on this site is a component inside a working appliance. This job is the surface itself, and the reason it has its own page is that people ask whether it can be repaired. It cannot — a cracked ceramic surface is replaced, and until it is, the appliance should be off at the breaker.

What decides the figure

The width, the generation and whether anything underneath was damaged by whatever broke the glass or by liquid that got past it afterwards. The "from" is the surface and the fitting on an appliance that is otherwise sound.

Before you order anything

Send us a photograph of the surface and the model number. Two cooktops of the same width and the same badge take different glass if they are different generations, and a panel that arrives wrong is two weeks lost rather than two days.

Questions about wolf cooktop glass replacement

It is only a small chip at the edge. Can I keep using it?

Not safely. A chip is a stress point in a sheet of glass that is heated and cooled every day, and edge chips propagate. It also lets liquid past the seal into the electronics underneath.

Why is glass this expensive?

Because it is not plain glass and it is not generic. It is a printed ceramic panel made for that model, with the touch areas and graphics in the right places, and it is shipped as a fragile oversize item.

Can you fit a used one?

We would rather not, and we will say why: a second-hand ceramic surface has an unknown history of thermal stress and no way to inspect it. If cost is the deciding factor there are better conversations to have first.

Tell us the model number and what it is doing.
